My ATC Collection Has A New Home!

ATC Display

I've been trading ATC's now for awhile and have gotten a very nice collection. I wanted a way to display them so that I could look at them daily. My office was in need of some new art as I was tired of looking at the art that I had on the walls. Old paintings I did from high school. I'm done looking at them for a while! I bought three packs of three wooden rulers from the dollar store. I didn't like the raw wood look so I aged them with an acrylic wash and my distress inks. Each ruler sits on two little nails like a shelf. The ATC's sit so great in the groove in the ruler! Now I can rearrange and enjoy my collection! I can fit four cards on each ruler, but for now with a smaller collection I have them a bit more spread out. I plan on going to get more rulers tomorrow to add another row and start on the wall that my desk is on!

Crafty Therapy!

So I've been doing a bit of crafting here and there between work. Work sucks my crafty time away! I hate it! Sadly I can't share any of the wonderful things I have completed because they will all be going to a new home in a swap! I don't want to spoil the surprise! I can't wait until I have sent so I can share all of the new things I've made! I'm still waiting on a nice day to take some pics of my latest swap goodies as well. Here's hoping for a bit of sun this weekend and some time to snag pics!

Newest ATC's

I decided I'd share a mosaic of my newest atc's. If you like to see more you can always hop on over to my flickr account and check out my available and traded sets.

I tried out the zetti style and like it! I also did more wax collage. I also did a few with original drawings in water color pencil. Lots of fun!
Enjoy!

Art Therapy

Paint

Tonight I was in need of some art therapy! Loooooooong day at work! I set myself to making some ATC's. ATC's are sort of like instant gratification. Even though some take me a long time to create I don't notice the time flying by. I can sit and work on a few cards and not even know three hours has passed and nor do I care. As I was bent over my work my hair dangled in my paint! It was just so pretty when I sat up that I had to take a photo. Silly I know, but I was zoned. I snapped a few pics and then washed it out. Sort of sad to see it go.
If you'd like to see the atc's I created I will post a mosaic of them tomorrow.

Woodland Faeries Goodies!

I made some wonderful fairy goodies for my friend Woodland Faerie. I thought it would be fun to share them. I'll try to share the things she sent to me in return in the next few days if I can get some sunlight to take pictures.

I made her a messenger bag using a photo of her as my inspiration. I took a silhouette photo of her that she had from camping and turned her into a fairy applique for the bag!

I also made her a skirt based on one from her wists. My pictures don't do it justice! I'm hoping she take an action shot soon to share with me! It is on a muslin base with tons of vintage lace, cheesecloth, and other bits and bobs. I did free motion sewing to create texture. I dyed it in coffee and a touch of Rit dye. It was supposed to be brown, but came out sort of lavenderish. Still very pretty.

I also made her some tiny clay mushrooms and an inchie fairy house, but I didn't get pics of those things before I sent!

Hopefully the sun shines tomorrow so I can snap some pics of my goodies!

More Hoop Up Embroidery!

I finished two more embroidered blocks for the hoop up and swap exchange I'm in on flickr.

First off a vintage children's book illustration for threekitchenfairies.

Next up was an original drawing from my wonderfully crafty friend Digital Misfit. You can check out her blog over on my blog list. She drew up this wonderful design specifically for Isaacsmama, whose theme was children and flowers.
Tomorrow I plan on posting some stuff I sent to my crafty fairy friend Woodland Faerie! She also sent me a wonderful package which I got today! I plan on showing that off in the near future as well!
