I had the frame from a yard sale and just couldn't resist framing it up in this. It hangs above my printer in my computer room so I can see it all the time. Her satin stitching skills are nuts! I can't believe she took on satin stitching these little guys! I bow to her awsomeness! Thanks Heidi!

Cha Ching!

Cha Ching!
Originally uploaded by AlwaysInspired
Work is crazy! Ten hour days of delivering planters and planting yards! I'm so beat! I started a small project for a crafty friend (Alexz) and have started sketching ideas out for a couple other projects for another crafty friend (Angelica). Now to just find the time to work on them! My yard is in deperate need of a weeding and I need to bring my planters home from work. The house inside is a complete mess too! Working all these hours gets me so behind.
The picture is our actual cash register at work. The newer electronic ones don't last because of the heat, humidity, and dirt. This one is so antique! It makes that great CHA CHING sound when you open it. I took the pic and edited it in photo scape for the fun of it. Yes, we write up each ticket by hand because the cash register only goes up to about $5.00!

Zetti Chair

Zetti Chair
Originally uploaded by AlwaysInspired
The chair is finished! I'm so happy it is done and more than happy with the outcome. The colors and designs came out just as I wanted. I think no kid will be able to resist sitting in this chair! Now I just hope it sells for tons of money for the art center! If you'd like to see more pics including close up's of the little characters on each arm support check out flickr.

My Hoop Up Blocks

My Hoop Up Blocks

I think I finally have all of my gnome blocks from the Hoop Up and Send swap from flickr! I may get one more, but I'm not holding my breath. One of our partner's sort of flaked, but I didn't do hers either so I guess we are even. I'm hoping I can get some of my other swappy friends to make me some gnome blocks so eventually I can make a whole quilt. Until then I have them all tucked away for future use. I love gnomes!

I'm sick! Uhg! I missed a whole day from work yesterday and was sent home for part of the day today. It wasn't fun time off either. Mostly coughing. No crafting, yard work, or anything. Something did make me feel a bit better today though, I got a package! That can always turn the most dismal day around! It was from my wonderful friend Heidi (Digital Misfit). She sent me this wonderful art work which I framed up right away in a yard sale frame I had spray painted purple. It looks just perfect on my lime green wall in my craft space. She also sent the cutest little pincushion which I will never stick pins in, the most rockin' embroidery ever, a super fun pony tail holder, and lots of other wonderful crafty goodies and a little something for my sis! Isn't she just the best! Thanks for brightening my day Heidi!

Zetti Inspiration

Zetti Inspiration

A while back I volunteered to paint a child's lawn chair for a charity auction that will be held on July 3rd. I'm painting the chair in honor of our local art center, which I am on the board at. They asked that I do an artsy type of theme. Right away I thought of zetti style. I love the colors, the fun, and whimsy of it all. I sketched out a couple of fun zetti elements for the chair and picked a color scheme. I went with black, white, accents of gold, blue, purple, yellow, green, and orange. I made this little chair pad for the seat as inspiration for my painting work. I have the chair just about base coated. I'm doing some fun layering! I can't wait to finish up the base coat and start on the details!

One of our favorite flowers out at the greenhouse is the daisy. The Osteospurum to be exact. We specialize in having a lot of different colors and always the newest colors available. This is a new color this year called Erica. It is so close to red it is unreal! The photo almost looks altered, but I assure you it is not. If you'd like to see more daisy pics skip on over to my flickr.

So I'm busy. I don't mean sorta busy with time to breathe. I mean like no stopping, I didn't get a day off last week, body aching, head spinning busy! I took my camera to work yesterday to sort of show my online friends why I'm so absent. I planted this up awhile ago. Some crafty sewing and a few plants and ta da! It is a Birthday gift for a bra loving buddy. If you'd like to see more of my flower pics stop on over at my flickr. I'll probably be blogging a flower pics for a bit. I hate not blogging something for so long!

Quilt Top

Quilt Top
Originally uploaded by AlwaysInspired
After sewing like a maniac yesterday, taking 2 hours out in the middle to go to work, and then sewing again frantically I managed to finish up the quilt blocks! I took this much over to Mom. She loved it! She can't wait to see the finished thing, but I explained it may be awhile yet. She'll have it by her Birthday in August for sure. Tonight is the last class to show us how to do the border around this part of the quilt. I still need to go to the quilt store to pick out background fabric and embroider up a tag to go on the quilt after it is quilted. I'm taking it to a lady here who has one of those nifty long arm machines and does beautiful quilting. I'm even getting excited to see it finished! I'd love to do this pattern again just to work on my half square triangles. Those darn things are my downfall!

4 Patch Marathon!

4 Patches
Originally uploaded by AlwaysInspired
Yesterday I dedicated myself to working on the quilt. I managed to get all of the 4 patch blocks cut and sewn! I chain sewed them so I still need to cut apart and press, but they are finished! I'm going to work on half square triangles today! Then assembly can begin on my remaining 11 blocks. I'm feeling really good about this project and I can't wait to learn more about quilting. Don't think I've forgotten about my other crafts though! Last week I had a great mail week getting new paper crafting supplies I ordered off of etsy. I can't wait to finish up the quilt blocks so I can find the top of my desk and get organized to make some more ATC.
