Deer in the fog

He's tiny too and that is one of the reasons I love him so. I took a few pics of him in the grass. I thought this one was interesting because when I took the pic my camera lens fogged up from the humidity in the grass. Sort of a neat look, I think. My addiction to tiny is getting worse!

Merlin's a Superstar!

I went camping this weekend and had so much fun! We went fishing, ate wonderful camp sorts of food, sat in the sun, and just plain relaxed. It was great. I also wanted to share the link to a wonderful blog. My little furball, Merlin, was asked to be on her Scrappy Dog Sunday feature. He was thrilled. Check out his interview here http://fasterkittykill.blogspot.com/

Mushroom Applique

Another part of the personal swap package to my faerie friend, woodland_faerie. I made her son an appliqued outfit. The mushroom was just done with me cutting out shapes of fabric and sewing. I didn't really use any sort of pattern. I love how it turned out. I also did a pair of shorts to go with the shirt that have a tree on them. If you'd like to see the whole outfit check out my flickr. I love applique!

Bag of fairy treasure

I made this bag to go along with Autumn Rae. I just love this picture as well. Sort of like a fairy dropped it and treasure spilled out. I filled it with a handmade sage wand, feather, leaf, rusted nail, rocks, and such. Things a fairy would keep on hand. I managed to use 4 fat quarters to make Autumn's outfit, this bag, 2 appliques for an outfit, and a fairy shawl. I still have 2 small squares of fabric left over too! Enough to embroider somethig fun onto them.

Autumn Rae

Autumn Rae has finally reached her new home so I can share her with everyone! She is a woodland sprite with wings. If you'd like to see her wings skip on over to my flickr account for some fun pics of her before she left my house! She was so much fun to make and a joy to send to her new home. Her eys are hand painted and glittered, her hair is super soft yarn too. She wears a leaf pendant made of glass. Her dress has ruffles and she has bloomers that match the green of the top of her dress. Her wings are detachable for ease of dressing. She was so much fun to make!

She has the cutest embroidery patterns ever. I've stitched up 4 of them so far. I just thought this little guy would look great on this premade pillow cover I had laying around in the dungeon. If you'd like to see a close up of the stitching flitter on over to my flickr page.

Patriotic Gnomes!

Patriotic Gnomes!
Originally uploaded by AlwaysInspired
The new Friends of Craftster Raffle is going on and people loved my gnomes so much they thought it would be fun for me to do patriotic gnomes this go around. The theme is something about how you celebrate the 4th of July. The top and bottom canvases are my normal 2x2 inch hand stretched and the middle one is 2 inches wide by just over and inch tall. The middle canvas has a fire work done in glitter! I bought new glitter and just had to try it. The top gnome is waving old glory as the bottom gnome sits on a firecracker! Better watch out or there may be an accident!

Plaster pirate ships

These are going straight for my pirate bathroom, when it gets finished. I bought them right off the wall of a house 1 house over from me. The little old man was being moved to the home so they were selling out his stuff. I paid a quarter for them! They say 1964 Miller Studios Inc. on the bottom and they are made of plaster. I love them so much! Back to crafting!

Tiny Strikes Again!

So as most people know, I love tiny things! I'm not sure what has possessed me lately, but I just keep thinking I can make everything smaller. I snagged these for 50 cents a peice at a yard sale on Saturday. The both say Italy on the back. I hate the tiny picture so I plan on taking it out and doing a tiny embroidery to put in! I just love the mirror though! They are also heavy, so actually made out of real metal! I have a pic of the mirror in my hand on my flickr if you care to see it for scale.

On Saturday Auntie and I went to a few yard sales, even though it was raining like crazy! I have a few new vintage goodies to share now! I bought this painting for $3! It is an actual painting on stretched canvas. It will go wonderfully in my bedroom after I clean up the frame a bit. No date or anything like that on it, but I love it just the same!

It's my Birthday!

Happy Birthday to me! Just a little post singing my own praises I guess. I'm 27 today and loving life! I have a wonderful husband, a spoiled little dog, a beautiful house, flowers, crafts, family, and friends. I couldn't be any luckier. I guess my Birthday is time for me to be thankful for all that I have and another year of love and life. So Happy Birthday to me!

Fairy Godmother Book

Fairy Godmother Book
Originally uploaded by AlwaysInspired
After drooling over fairy godmother books made by knickertwist (whose blog is over there on the side under my faves), I decided to give my own a try. I made it for the IYP swap on craftster and it has now reached it's new home. I'm not a paper crafter by any means, so this is all new to me, but I am an avid day dreamer and writter of silly tales so making up the names and descriptions of each godmother was super fun! This is the front of the book with attached letter from the headmistress of the Fairy Godmother's Guild. It is actually a rejection letter for the person I made the book for. Explaining that she isn't ready to be in the guild yet! I also included an application to re apply at a later date! I had bound the book with the stab binding method too. If you want to see more pics, as always, twirl on over to my flickr. I took a few shots of some pages as well. I also have scans of every page, but I haven't uploaded them anywhere yet!

Bird house and Glitter Bird

Remember that silly little bird I posted a while back? Well then he turned into a much cooler bird with the help of some glitter and then he had to have a house! I bought a plain wood craft bird house and made it rock! I used modge podge and some old book pages. I also painted stems and leaves and used buttons for the flowers. I love how it turned out and had to share!
