Naughty Words swap package!

I received this wonderful package from The Platypus Project over on Craftster. It was for the naughty word swap I orgainzed. Such a wonderful package! She totally nailed me and my potty mouth! The green thing with polka dots is a wonderful sewing machine cover that went straight on the magic machine! The oven mitt is the hubby's new favorite cooking gear too! Thanks Tatjana!

Fay the woodland elf

I also received a snow dragon for a pet for my winter poppet Fable from the 1st poppet swap! I plan on taking some wonderful snowy pictures this weekend of the 2 of them together.

I named this little gal Fay! She reminded me so much of a fairy, only with no wings. I know she's an elf, but Fay just fit. She makes a wonderful addition to my poppet family! Thanks Lolly!

Marisela; Star of the Sea

The poppet I just made for a swap has been received so I can finally blog her! Her name is Marisela, like I mentioned in an earlier teaser photo of her. The name means "star of the sea". Thanks Heidi! Her torso, arms, and head are the poppet pattern, the tail is a pattern made by me. I'm so pleased with how she came out! Her hair is 5 different yarns and she wears a crown of pearls. I custom painted her eyes to look fish like. She sits on the rock with aid of a small piece of velcro. Her friends are a clam and sea horse. My partner really wanted a poppet with pets! I'm so proud of her! The rock is also weighted with lentils to keep it heavy. I love weighting stuff with lentils. Way better than those plastic pellets. Anyway, my swap partner loved her and I do too! You can see more pics of her on my flickr account as always.

The Tumbler; a new fairy!

So I attempted another fairy in a frame to see if the first one was just a fluke. She came out so cute! I'm super proud. I think I'll give them both together like a set. I call her t

he Tumbler. She delights in giggling as you stumble over your own feet, get tangled up in tree roots, or slip on hidden ice. She's always there to lend a helping hand!

The Wishing Fairy!

I'm dabbling in the art of paper crafting and I'm very uncertain right now. It is a blast trying something new, but I'm always worried it isn't up to par. I made this little fairy girl as a birthday gift. I call her the wishing fairy. She grants wishes whilst dancing on top of your head. She love the look a person gets when they are wishing really hard for something. I plan on making more as she was so much fun to make! You'll be seeing more of my paper crafts in the future hopefully!

What a color!

I have so many projects I want to share right now, but sadly they are all for swaps! No sharing until they have been received! So instead of sharing my crafty pursuits I thought

I 'd share another picture from my work. I took this a few days ago, because the color is unreal! It looks altered, but I assure you it is not. I'm not a photographer by any means, but I do love those macro shots! So for now enjoy the color and hopefully I'll be able to post some crafty goodies by Monday!

Post 103!!!!!!!!!!

So this may be a bit belated, but I'm thrilled I made it past 100 posts! I never thought I'd enjoy blogging as much as I do! So in honor of my 103rd post I'm going to post one of my favorite pictures of the "magic machine".

The magic machine is my old trusty sewing machine that changed my life. It is an ancient Dressmaker brand green monster that has quite a history. It started out belonging to a great aunt of mine who was an avid seamstress and liked to have the top of the line equipment. Well, old green went out of style for her quickly and she was just about to toss it in the trash when my grandpa saved it from certain doom and took it home to grandma. Grandma used it for years and then passed it on to my mom who used it for common mending and making a bunch of denim quilts. When I moved to Idaho it came with, even though I had no idea how to sew! It collected dust and then made the trip back home with us. I stumbled upon Craftster and decided I could master the magic machine! With the help of the poppet pattern and good old trial and error I became a whiz! I wouldn't trade it in for a new top of the line machine! It has helped me to craft so many things that have made so many people happy, including myself. To watch a work of love go under that foot gives me so much joy. So there you have it my story of the magic machine! A part of my life that can never be replaced! It may be old, a bit tattered, and dirty, but it is shiny and new in my eyes.

Tink is home!

I just woke up to wonderful news,

Tink made it to Canada in one piece! Jenny was kind enough to send me the first reaction pics of her little one Belle! This is the first picture she took! Look at that smile! Really makes my day! She'll also send me some pics when they go to Disney later on.

It makes me feel so good to see such a smile on a little ones face. It makes everything worth while.

Thanks so much Jenny for putting a smile on my face today!

The happy little Plattie!

I haven't had much time to craft this week! It has made me less than happy! So I've gotten up early this morning and

right after I finish this entry it is off to the craft dungeon until work time!

I made this cute little platypus for a swap recently on Craftster. My partner's user name was The Platypus Project so I thought it was perfect! I found the pattern online and gave it a whirl. He turned out so soft and cuddly even though he was smaller than I had wanted.

Well I'm off to make something creative! Who needs breakfast anyway right??!!

Spring is coming!

I just had to share what my world is now revolving around! It really helps beat the winter blues when you can see a bit of green! My job is to take each and every one of those little babies my Grama grows and plant them in their own container! I know it sounds crazy, but it is strangly relaxing! They aren't ready just yet, but soon. Give them another week or 2 and I'll have mud under my nails!

Treasures Abound!

I just had to share this! I made this little clam last night. I can't say why or where it is going, but if you've figured out Marisela's name yet you may just know!

In other news, today I start work! Uhhgggg! No more crafty afternoons! I get up early in the mornings to do my computer stuff and craft for an hour or so before I leave, and that keeps me sane! In case you don't know what I do for a living, my family runs a fully operational greenhouse. Meaning I start planting today! I'll be a muddy, wet, cold mess for the next long while.

Off to play in the dirt now!

Marisela

This is a face shot of the newest poppet creation I'm making for the Poppet Swap on Craftster. I can't show all of her yet as she hasn't been sent, but I will say she is no ordinary poppet! I just had to share! I'm so in love with her hair! If you look up the meaning of her name you may start to get why she isn't ordinary!

Holy knitted madness, Batman!

Here is my final package from the IYP swap! A ton of knitted goodness from javede! I wear the socks every time they are clean, and they wash just wonderfully! The hand warmers and matching scarf are worn a lot too! I love wearing them with a plain black sweatshirt for a pop of color! The calorimetry is super warm! I wore it to work the other day! The hat is gorgeous and I've already had people try to steal it! The chocolate is (ahem, was) heavenly! She sent such wonderful stuff! Thanks Javede!

I swear he's not evil!

Taking a break from Tink's progress today! More on Tink tomorrow.
I just had to share a photo of my little furry monster. I swear he usually doesn't look this evil. He was napping and just as I went to snap the pic he opened that eye and gave me the worst stink eye I've ever seen!
