Happy Halloween!

I'm off to inflate balloons for the community Halloween party (another of my Halloween traditions).

Have a spooktacular Halloween and a very blessed Samhain!

Craft Dungeon Finally Clean

Craft Dungeon

Bright and Shiny buttons

I ran across these buttons in the bottom of a lot of sewing stuff I got at an estate sale. I have no idea what they are for, but I am assuming military clothing. They were wrapped in tissue and it looks like this isn't a whole set. The back of the buttons say D. Evans & Co. Inc. North Attleboro Mass. There is a pic of the back of the button on my flickr account. Any help in identifying what these were intended for would be a great help. I plan on making a sailor inspired pencil skirt and using these for a button detail on the front.

Album from Korea

Album from Korea
Originally uploaded by AlwaysInspired
A while back I promised to blog some more of my vintage goodness. This is a yard sale find that is one of my favorites. I bought it from a little old man that told me he brought it back from Korea. Inside the 1st page says "Christmas 1951". The photos are long gone, but on a few of the velum cover pages there are love poems scrawled in a very hard to decipher script. So romantic! I can only imagine the woman that they were wrote for. I've managed to completely decipher 1 and part of another.
Going Away
When I'm gone and you're left behind
My love won't stop with the passing of time.
I may travel the ends of the Earth astray
But my love for you grows day by day.
The time that passes
The miles we're apart
Will only mean a lonely heart.

Isn't it just beautiful. Sappy I know, but the fact that a man wrote this for a woman is touching.
I will post the other when I get it figured out. It is even more romantic.

Kilt update!

So my help came over and we began the tapering process yesterday. I have to do the sewing now since it is all pinned up and then we will get the waist band on and pray that it fits Aaron! It is looking like a real kilt! I have until his party on November 2nd to get it done, but his real Birthday is on October 30th. He was almost a trick or treat! Any way it is close to done and I'm feeling so excited that I made it! I got a couple of blank kilt pins to decorate too!

Roamy Gnomey's Adventures

My little buddy, Roamy Gnomey, that I got from bsonlytoots via Holstercobabe in a personal swap has been on some adventures lately! He went to Bismark, North Dakota with me and the Hubby. He had so much fun he wanted to share his adventures on my blog. Go to my flickr account to see his story in pictures!

What a riot!!!

I just returned home from a little road trip with the hubby! We went and saw Carlos Mencia live! It was such a good time! Everyone needs to laugh like that. My stomach and face hurt from laughing so much! He did 2 hours and 10 minutes on stage and there were also 3 other comedians that performed and a DJ that did a really cool set. It was fantastic and I'll remember it forever!
In other news, I took some fun photos of Roamy Gnomey at the capitol building that I will be posting tomorrow. It was exciting and I can't wait to share.
I also got to go craft shopping while I was there! I bought fabric for 2 family tree quilts that are going to Aaron's grandparents for Christmas, some sculpy for me to play around making creepy doll faces, some jewelry findings including some kilt pins to decorate, and some canvas boards for stretching some embroidery projects!
Look for the pictures of Roamy Gnomy tomorrow!

The witchy on the top is from knickertwist in Ontario Canada, the day of the dead skelly on the right is from Lmcbride in Vermont, the voodoo doll to the left of skelly is from koalascout in Georgia, the skinny little faceless creep on the left is from scotskipper402 in Virginia, and last, but not least the green wicked witch on the bottom is from Carrieme in Florida! I love all my creepies so much I've joined the 2nd round of the swap to add to my tree!

I'm dreaming of a green Halloween!

This pic is taken out of my front window, and yes that is my car covered in snow on OCTOBER 12th! We usually have snow on Halloween, or at least have had snow and it is miserably cold. I had to wear my costume over a snow suit or jacket more times than not. Oh well, happy winter!

Fall Beauty

The colors, the smells, the coolness of the air. That beautiful time balanced between hot sun and cold snow. I try to take as many fall pictures and get outdoors as much as possible during this time, to store up the sun and beauty to last the long winter.
Enjoy the fall!

Who's behind those Foster Grant's

I found these vintage Foster Grant sunglasses and knew they were destined to be my "happy" time sunglasses forever! They just don't make em' like this anymore. Not a scratch on the lenses and in wonderful condition. Click on the picture to go to my flickr account and look at more photos of these and even one with me modeling (hair in a head band and all!) Okay so I wasn't prepared for a photo shoot in my "outfit" that these go perfect with. I'll get that shot someday.
