Heart Inside

I was out taking my first bare footed walk through the backyard when I happened to spy this little gem laying on the grass.

I had to stop and take a picture. A red heart inside of a lacy shell. So fragile and beautiful.

AlwaysInspired said...: Paula, the seed pod is to a plant called a Chinese Lantern. I can't think of the other name for it right now. They can be very invasive plants, but I've managed to keep them contained to a small patch. In the summer the pods are actually a bright reddish color and look like paper lanterns.; May 9, 2011 at 3:57 PM
